Local Soldiers Protest Westboro Church Demonstrations
Three local soldiers protest Westboro Church members

Thursday marriage equality laws went into effect in Rhode Island, which was a day of celebration for most residents, regardless of sexual orientation. However, members of the Westboro Baptist Church, which is a primitive church located in Topeka, Kansas, is opposed to homosexuality and organized protests across the state.
Three local soldiers spent the day at the protests, to show their support for marriage equality and oppose the church's message.
"We took this picture when we saw signs saying soldiers die for fags," said a Newport solider who wished to remain anonymous because he is still on active orders. The soldiers yelled back, "We die so that you may live another day."
