Man Found Unresponsive on Newport Street with Unspecified Injuries

A 30-year-old Newport man was found on Clinton Avenue in Newport and police are investigating how he sustained his injuries.

NEWPORT, RI—Newport police are investigating after a 30-year-old Newport man was found unresponsive on Clinton Avenue on Wednesday.

The man was transported to Rhode Island Hospital. Police are not releasing many details about the nature of his injuries.

"This matter is under investigation by the Newport Police Criminal Investigation Division to determine how he sustained his injuries," said Sgt. Corey A. Huck in a news release.

In an e-mail, Huck said that police are not releasing information about the extent of the victim's injuries, nor his current condition, at this time.
