The current owners of the unit bought it in 1995, according to city records.
There are no confirmed reports of any injuries at this time. Fire officials were unable to provide many details about the fire partly due to an extremely busy night on Aquidneck Island after fires broke out in Middletown and Portsmouth as well.
More information will be posted as it becomes available.
