Newport Police Ask Public to Help ID Suspect

Recognize this man? Police wouldn't mind if you dropped them a dime.

NEWPORT, RI—Newport police are asking the public to help them identify a suspect in a case currently under investigation.

Police shared pictures of the suspect and asked for anyone with information to call Newport Police Det. Jason Head at 401-845-5756.

Police said the incident happened on Thursday near the Boys and Girls Club. Newport Police Sgt. Corey Huck said in a news release that the suspect is wanted in connection with "a potential breaking and entering complaint."

The photos show a man wearing a white T-shirt, white sneakers and dark shorts.

The incident happened at roughly 3 p.m., according to police.
