Newport Police Continue Search for Suspect in Brutal Assault on City Street
Police released a new photo of Freddie Hicks, 25, on Wednesday in the hopes of tracking him down.
NEWPORT, RI—Newport police continue to investigate the whereabouts of 25-year-old Freddie Hicks.
Hicks is wanted for the recent alleged assault of a local man as he walked along Bliss Road with a friend.
Police released a new photo of Hicks on Wednesday and ask that anyone with information about his location call the department immediately at 401-847-1306.

Hicks is accused of critically injuring Kyle Kettner, 28, sending the father of a young boy to the hospital with critical head injuries.
Kettner was put in a medically induced coma for days before his condition improved. This week, family members reported that he was showing some signs of improvement and had woken up.

Kettner was recently upgraded to good condition but has a long road to recovery still ahead. The family’s GoFundMe fundraiser had raised nearly $7,000 as of Wednesday night.
