Newport Police: Drug Suspect In Custody

William Rudolph. of Berkley, Mass., was arrested Thursday afternoon and charged with six felonies.

NEWPORT, RI— William Rudolph, 35, of Berkley, Mass., was selling marijuana, police allege. Detectives from Newport, Little Compton and Berkley, Mass., were investigating his activity. On Thursday, a Newport undercover officer arranged to buy two pounds of marijuana from Rudolph. He arrived at 1:45 p.m., and officers stopped his car. Police allege they seized two pounds of marijuana, 18 Hash Oil cartridges, 127 Xanax pills, 31 Klonopin pills, 16 Suboxone pills, and $39,732 in cash. They also allege they found 5 ounces of marijuana packaged in foil and 5 ounces of marijuana packaged in a plastic bag.

He was to be arraigned in Newport District Court on Friday. Meanwhile, the Massachusetts State Police raided his home. They allege they found 10 pounds of marijuana.

The investigation is continuing.
