Newport Police Log: False Alarm, Disorderly and Noise Violation
The following is based on reports from the Newport Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Kyle R. Laferriere, 21, of 4 Palmer St., Barrington, was arrested around 4:55 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 14, for disorderly conduct and possession of marijuana charges.
Police responded to several reports of Laferriere being disorderly.
They first responded to Newport Hospital, where he was reportedly drunk and disorderly. Reports said he attempted to urinate in the parking lot but ran away before being detained.

Police later encountered Laferriere after he had entered a man’s truck without permission.
Police reports said he then left the area, and began asking people at a wake at Memorial Funeral Home to use their cell phones. He was arrested and police found marijuana on him during a search.

False Alarm
A 17-year-old Newport girl was arrested around 1:10 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 14, for false fire alarm and vandalism charges.
According to police reports, the girl, who lived at a group home, pulled the fire alarm because she was angry about receiving a punishment for breaking her curfew.
After pulling the alarm, she threw the resident’s phone, reports said.
Noise Violation
Caley M. Mulcahy, 21, and Jared Kustra, 21, both of 30 Young St., were cited around 2:19 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 15, for a noise violation.
