Newport Police Log: Woman Removed from Pineapple Inn
The following is based on reports from the Newport Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Anne M. Roderick, 48, of 7 Ann St., Newport, was arrested around 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 20, for simple assault and resisting arrest charges.
Police were dispatched to the Pineapple Inn for a disorderly woman. A man renting a room said he wanted Roderick removed.
Reports said she told police she had been doing drugs all week and wanted to harm herself.

While transporting her to Newport Hospital, police conducted a motor vehicle stop. During that time, Roderick changed her mind about wanting to go to the hospital and began acting in a violent manner.
She was released from the hospital after an evaluation.

Once in her cell, Roderick reportedly removed all of her clothes and was banging her head against the wall until she was unconscious. She was brought back to Newport Hospital.
