Admission to the mansions for residents of the city of Newport has been free for all of this year to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Society. The gesture of good will has resulted in a total of 4,200 visits from May to October. Of that figure, 673 were children.

“As the holidays approach, we want to remind Newport residents that this free admission offer remains in effect,” said Preservation Society CEO & Executive Director Trudy Coxe. “Travel + Leisure magazine just named Newport one of the Top Holiday Towns in America, so we want to make sure that Newporters take advantage of this opportunity to get in the holiday spirit.”
