Old Restrooms Demolished At Newport's Miantonomi Park

The long-vacant facilities were demolished earlier this week.

NEWPORT, RI — Out with the old, in with the new. The old, abandoned restrooms at Newport's Miantonomi Park were demolished this week.

The open-air facilities have long sat vacant and unused, city officials said. Earlier this week, crews started breaking down the stone and concrete buildings, so the area can be reverted to more green space.

The old restrooms were replaced in 2019, when new facilities were dropped in by crane.
