Pit Bull Allegedly Attacked Dog at Rovensky Park

The incident was reported by the Newport Police Department.

Kenneth Alves, 25, was issued a summons after police said he failed to restrain his pit bull at Rovensky Park.

Alves said he was playing frisbee with his dog, Bay, in the park when he jumped the fence to go play with another dog. The woman who owned the other dog, Shasta, told police Bay attacked her dog until a witness drove up and threw Bay over the park wall.

Police said Shasta was in good spirits after the incident, but was favoring her left hind leg and had a few minor bite marks to her right leg.
