Three Dogs Sent To Potter When Owner Taken Into Custody: Newport

Three dogs living with their owner at Motel 6 went to the Potter League when police charged their owner with a felony.

NEWPORT, RI -- A bill for a motel room led to an arrest June 12, Newport police said. Eden Lahr, 56, of Newport, allegedly presented a stolen credit card at the Motel 6. Police allege she took also took cash from a Walmart shopper. Lahr allegedly took the victim's bag out of her shopping cart. She used the money to pay her bill at Motel 6 allegedly.

Lahr is being charged with one felony for fraudulent use of credit cards and one misdemeanor for Larceny under $1,500. She was staying in the motel with three dogs. The dogs were sent to the Potter League. She was also wanted on two warrants from other departments, police said.
