The Oliver Hazard Perry at Perrotti Park
The ship was in a collision Sunday night with other vessels in Newport Harbor. The Coast Guard says 12 crew members were on board, and the accident happened as the SSV Oliver Hazard Perry was leaving the seafood festival. The vessel lost power. It was moored overnight in Perrotti Park until a salvage company arrived to tow it. No one was hurt, and the ship was not badly damaged. Some of the other boats had some damage, the harbormaster said.
