WATCH: Stunning Views of Newport by Drone

Pilot and drone aficionado Jon Pascua uses a drone to take you on a bird's-eye view of Newport in all its splendor.

NEWPORT, RI—Jon Pascua of Coventry has a lot of hobbies: riding ATVs, piloting boats and flying planes and drones, to name just a few.

Fortunately for the rest of us, he often brings along a camera for his exploits.

Recently, Pascua captured some awesome views of Newport with a drone.

The video shows the Claiborne Pell Bridge, the SSV Oliver Hazard Perry, Fort Adams State Park, and the city's historic harbor and downtown districts, among other sights.

Earlier this summer, Pascua, from his plane, produced a few images of the damage caused by the epic gypsy moth caterpillar infestation that ravaged Rhode Island earlier this summer.

The pictures were shared widely as they provided a perfect representation of damage caused by the invasive caterpillars that overwhelmed parts of the state and defoliated large areas.
