NK College Graduates, Part One

NK Patch posts college graduations and honors on a semi-annual basis.

Bryant University held its 150th Commencement on May 18. Among the graduates were Kevin J. Golinveaux, Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Information Technology, and Benjamin Robert Sternberg, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Finance. Bryant’s Graduate School Commencement took place May 16. Among the graduates were Daniel Lamendola, who earned a Master of Business Administration, and Alyssa Ricci, who earned a Master of Business Administration.

The following local residents graduated from Saint Michael's College during the 106th commencement exercises held on the college campus May 12th: Sarah Emily DelGizzo, daughter of Dennis Delgizzo of North Kingstown, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science; Mallory Renee Hyland, daughter of David and Sandra Hyland of North Kingstown, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts, summa cum laude degree in Psychology and Spanish; Geoffrey B. Sagamang, son of David and Linda Sagamang of North Kingstown, graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Political Science; and Katherine Elise Walsh, daughter of Ann and Eric Walsh of North Kingstown, graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology.

The following hometown residents were awarded degrees during Salve Regina University's 63rd commencement on May 19: Brian Gary Murphy was awarded a bachelor of science degree in Accounting; Kelly M. Alverson was awarded a certificate of advanced graduate studies degree in Humanities; Kerri M. Spier was awarded a certificate of advanced graduate studies degree in Mental Health-Holistic Counseling; Daniel R. Fanning was awarded a master of arts degree in Holistic Counseling; and Mary E. Slattery was awarded a master of science degree in Healthcare Administration & Management.

Local residents graduated from Clemson University May 10. They are: Kaitrin Mary Hartnett, who graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Travis Joseph Crocker, who graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in History. They were among 3,053 students who received degrees at three commencement ceremonies.

Lyndon State College held its 101st Commencement Ceremony under sunny skies on Sunday, May 19. Diplomas were granted to 280 members of the class of 2013, including to Jessica Walsh of North Kingstown, who was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in Television Studies.

Charles Weber of Wickford recently graduated from Champlain College. Weber received a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication.

Some 2,557 students were awarded a variety of bachelor's degrees during the University of Vermont's 211th Commencement ceremonies on May 19. There were some 575 advanced degrees and certificates awarded by the UVM Graduate College and approximately106 women and men took the oath of Hippocrates following the awarding of their M.D. degrees at ceremonies of the UVM College of Medicine. A list of local students and the degree earned by each follows: Zachary J. Lasky eceived a BS in Wildlife & Fisheries Biology; Amy E. Lipsitz received a BS in Public Communication; Thomas J. Briggs received a BS in Molecular Genetics; and Zachary S. Galkin received a MSW in Social Work.

The following local residents were among over 900 students from Providence College who received undergraduate degrees during the College's 95th Commencement Exercises held on May 19: Stephen Battey graduated with a bachelor's degree in Philosophy; Chiara Comolli graduated with a bachelor's degree in Political Science; and Matthew McGuire graduated with a bachelor's degree in Health Policy and Management.
