NK College Graduates, Part Two

Erin Webster of Saunderstown, received a Master of Business Administration from Quinnipiac University during a commencement ceremony held May 12 at the TD Bank Sports Center. Denise D'Ascenzo, WFSB-TV, Channel 3 anchor and award-winning broadcast journalist, addressed the 747 graduated and received an honorary degree.

The following area residents graduated from graduated from Quinnipiac University during the 82nd Undergraduate Commencement held May 19: Carissa Del Greco of North Kingstown, RI, Bachelor of Science in Accounting; Kathleen Nelson of North Kingstown, RI, Bachelor of Science in Health Science/Physical Therapy; Conor Schmidt of North Kingstown, RI, Bachelor of Science in Health Science/Physical Therapy; and Kyle Theriault of Saunderstown, RI, Bachelor of Science in Marketing.

Fairfield University, a Jesuit university founded in 1942 in Fairfield, Connecticut, awarded 1,279 degrees at its 63rd Commencement on Sunday, May 19, 2013, during two ceremonies on campus, one in the morning for undergraduates, and one in the afternoon for those receiving graduate and doctorate degrees. The following area residents received degrees: Daniel Lamendola, a resident of North Kingstown, R.I., received a Bachelor of Science degree from Fairfield University's College of Arts and Sciences. Brian McGreen, a resident of Saunderstown, R.I., received a Bachelor of Science degree from Fairfield University's College of Arts and Sciences.

Jason Guida, of North Kingstown, RI, graduated from the New England School of Communications (NESCom) with a Bachelor of Science in Communications on May 11 at the Newman Gymnasium on the campus of Husson University. At commencement, Guida was awarded the Alpha Beta Kappa (ABK) National Honor Society award. ABK recipients are nominated by their department directors and then reviewed by an ABK committee. Qualifications for membership include excellence in classroom, studio, and lab and a minimum cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.5. The student must demonstrate leadership, service in class and school activities, and display personal integrity and good moral character.

Zachary Thomas Wilmot of Saunderstown, RI, graduated with a degree in Kinesiology - BS from James Madison University during the May 4, 2013 commencement exercises. Wilmot was among 3,600 students who received undergraduate, master's, educational specialist and doctoral degrees.

Asha Tipirneni from Saunderstown graduated from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on June 12.

The following local residents have earned degrees from Springfield College (Mass.) for studies completed in 2013. Nicole DeCristoforo, of North Kingstown, bachelor's of science in Health Science and Pre-Physical Therapy. David Brown, of North Kingstown, bachelor's of science in Sports Biology.

Charlotte Clement of North Kingstown received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Drew University on Saturday, May 18, 2013, at the university's 145th commencement.

Zachary Gold graduated magna cum laude from Lafayette College in Easton, Pa., and earned a bachelor of science degree in biochemistry, recipient of National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Ernest F. Hollings Undergraduate Scholarship. He was also named to the 2013 spring semester Dean's List.

The following local students graduated from the University of Hartford during spring commencement weekend (May 18-19): George Prete of Flanders, New York, with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Patricia Swanson of North Kingstown with a Bachelor of Arts.

Michael Desabris of North Kingstown, RI, graduated from the University of New Haven on May 19, 2013 with a Masters in Business Administration.

Melanie Donnelly of North Kingstown participated in Berklee College of Music's 2013 Commencement held recently in Boston at Boston University's Agganis Arena. Donnelly received a Degree in Professional Music from President of Berklee College of Music, Roger Brown.

Cody Normand of North Kingstown graduated in May 2013 from Hofstra University with a BA in Journalism . Cody was among more than 2,000 undergraduate, graduate and law students who celebrated completing their studies at commencement ceremonies in the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex.

Kara Meringolo of North Kingstown graduated from Gettysburg College on May 19, 2013. Meringolo majored in Political Science and International Affairs.
