Obituary: Norman A. MacKay, 73
Norm was NK's assistant harbormaster, an avid bluegrass musician and a regular at he Beach Rose Café.

Norman A. MacKay, 73, died peacefully on Sunday, June 16, at Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center. He was the beloved husband of the late Elaine V. (Nelson) MacKay. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Frank A. MacKay and Hannah C. (MacDonald) MacKay.
Norm was an engineer for Koch Process Systems until his retirement. He was the Assistant Harbormaster in North Kingstown, a member of The First Baptist Church in Wickford, and proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was an avid bluegrass musician and a regular at the Beach Rose Café.
He leaves his three devoted children: Jodi Quilty and her husband Joseph of Tewksbury, Mass., Lance E. MacKay and his wife Maryann of Dracut, Mass., and Kari MacKay of Methuen, Mass. Cherished grandfather of six grandchildren and one great-grandson. He was the brother of Alexis MacLean of North Easton, Mass., and Etna Coleman of New Mexico. He also leaves his beloved dog, Bosun.
His Funeral Service will be held Thursday, June 20, at noon in The First Baptist Church in Wickford, 44 Main St. Burial will be private. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. in The Cranston-Murphy Funeral Home of Wickford, 140 West Main St., Wickford Village, North Kingstown.
