Members of the public are invited to come and buy cupcakes or compete against student bakers to see whose treat reigns supreme.
NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI—Do people rave about your amazing cupcake recipe? Or do you just like to eat them?
Either way, the North Kingstown High School class of 2017 has an upcoming event that you'll feel bitter about missing.
It's the fourth-annual Cupcake Wars competition, which pits school-age and community bakers against each other for a sweet battle to see whose concoction is tops.

Class of 2017 Vice President Jacob Maguire writes:
Like in previous years, interested participants should organize themselves into teams. Teams can compete in four categories: Elementary School, Middle School, High School, or Community. A $25 nonrefundable entry fee will be needed for each interested team, and each team will also need 100 homemade cupcakes.
Cupcakes will be judged on creativity, theme, and taste. Prizes will be awarded to the winning teams. If interested in partipating, please contact Jordan Albernaz or Heather Lebel at their respective emails, jordan_albernaz@nksd.net or heather_lebel@nksd.net. You can also contact Heather Lebel at 401-268-6290.
In addition to the regular competition at Cupcake Wars, a special contest will be held. For the special contest, which requires no early registration or entry fee, interested participants should bring two undecorated cupcakes and some supplies."
