Here are the top three stories in Pawtucket today:
- On Wednesday night, the Pawtucket Board of Licenses held a hearing on a cigar lounge, following a fatal shooting. Commissioners discussed the status of FabCity Cigar Lounge to determine what should be done with the business. The business has been voluntarily shut down since Jan. 25, and ramifications for the deadly shooting could include suspensions, fines, or licenses revoked. (WJAR)
- Coffee 911, Pawtucket’s new mobile coffee and food truck, is available for every coffee emergency. The mobile food truck was founded by husband and wife duo John and Bethanie Lavalley. Currently, they make their first stop at 10 a.m. at the Slater Park Dog Park, where they serve hot and iced coffee, hot chocolate, breakfast sandwiches, pastries, and ice cream. (Valley Breeze)
- According to a representative for the Carpionato Group, plans for a major lifestyle center at the Narragansett Park Plaza on Newport Avenue are still on. While there are no major announcements about the project, Kelly Coates, president and CEO of the Carpionato Group, says there’s plenty of construction going on there even now and much more to come — including plans for a new grocery store to replace the former Super Stop & Shop on the Pawtucket side of the line. Last May, the Pawtucket City Planning Commission approved a one-year extension on a master plan approval for the project first given in the spring of 2019. (Valley Breeze)
