- More trees will be planted in Pawtucket and Central Falls after Groundwork Rhode Island received an additional grant of $43,000. A $100,000 Tree Planting for Climate Resilience and Human Health grant had been awarded to Pawtucket Central Falls Health Equity Zone (HEZ) last April to plant 140 trees locally in 2021. HEZ partnered with Groundwork Rhode Island to expand the tree coverage in neighborhoods that don’t have enough trees and after the additional grant, they now have funding to plant 190 trees.
