Here are the top three stories today in Pawtucket:

  1. According to a Friday announcement by the Department of Children, Youth and Families, a Pawtucket baby nearly died due to maltreatment on Jan. 8. The family involved has had no previous involvement with the department; The Office of the Child Advocate was notified. Few details have been released due to confidentiality concerns.   2. After a Thursday announcement regarding a proposed regulation for unvaccinated healthcare workers, the Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) is clarifying who qualifies. The proposal states that unvaccinated healthcare workers could return to work, as long as they wear an N95 mask at all times. The RIDOH clarified Friday that this would only apply to facilities that do not receive Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) reimbursement. (WJAR)
  3. Authorities are requesting assistance from the public with a missing person investigation a half-hour outside Pawtucket. On Feb. 23, Coventry police began to investigate a report of 42-year-old Jeffrey Carreiro of Coventry; Carreiro was reportedly last seen by family on Feb. 27.(GoLocalProv)
