Pawtucket Child Molester Sentenced To 17 Years
The Pawtucket man assaulted a minor for four years, according to the Rhode Island Attorney General's Office.
PAWTUCKET, RI — A Pawtucket child molester was sentenced to 17 years in prison.
Jose Perez Ayala, 49, was sentenced Wednesday, according to a media release from the Rhode Island Attorney General's Office.
A jury found Ayala guilty of one count of first-degree child molestation and three counts of second-degree child molestation in June.

“After enduring years of trauma, this victim demonstrated enormous bravery throughout the investigation and prosecution of this case,” Attorney General Peter F. Neronha said in the release.
“By supporting every victim and empowering them to come forward and seek justice, we make our communities safer, one case at a time," Neronha said. "I am grateful to the prosecutors in my office and the Pawtucket Police Department for their partnership on this difficult case.”

During the trial, prosecutors proved Ayala assaulted a minor between 2011 and 2015, according to the release.
