Pawtucket Man Sentenced For Having 17K Videos, Pictures Of Child Porn
Prosecutors say Eugeni Lopes Gomes, 47, was caught with videos of pornography depicting children ranging in ages 1-to-12.
PAWTUCKET, RI — A Pawtucket man was sentenced Tuesday to three years in federal prison after admitting to possessing more than 17,000 pictures and videos of child pornography.
Court documents reflect that in August 2023, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children notified police that a phone number, later determined to belong to Eugenio Lopes Gomes, 47, was used to upload child pornography.
Authorities searched Gomes' home, seized electronic devices, and found about 17,000 images and 144 videos of pornography depicting children ranging in ages 1-to-12, prosecutors said.

Gomes pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography on Sept. 24, 2024. Following his prison sentence, Gomes must serve three years of federal probation.
