  1. Three Pawtucket nightclubs will face disciplinary hearings before the city's licensing board after police described altercations and violations over two weekends in July. (Pawtucket Patch)
  2. Central Falls is celebrating plans to build tennis courts so inner-city youth can learn the game. Mayor Maria Rivera and others hosted a ribbon-cutting. (WLNE-TV ABC6)
  3. The planned tax sale of Rhode Island's tallest building was put off after the owner of the "Superman building" in Providence pledged to pay $450,000 in back taxes. (WJAR)
  4. Governor Dan McKee and the Rhode Island Foundation will award another $150,000 to nonprofits fighting COVID-19. This time, recipients of the RI Gives Vax Challenge include the Elisha Project and the Blackstone Valley Advocacy Center. McKee said the challenge has delivered 20,000 shots since it was launched a month ago.
  5. North Attleboro has detected the forever chemical known as PFAS in one of its drinking water sources, and customers are being alerted. Attleboro sent out a similar notice last week. Officials say it's not an emergency. (The Sun Chronicle)
