Here are the top three stories today in Pawtucket:
- It'll be in the high 50s in Pawtucket on Friday, so leave the heavy winter layers at home. Don't pack them away for the season though — the forecast shows potential for snow on Saturday. On Sunday, expect sunny to partly cloudy skies and a high of 38 degrees. (Pawtucket Patch)
- Pawtucket residents may be able to take advantage of a new program that offers $25,000 to first-generation homebuyers. The new program, FirstGenHomeRI, was launched on Wednesday by Gov. Dan McKee and RIHousing and was designed to help first-generation homebuyers by providing them with $25,000 for down payments and closing costs. As long the buyer keeps the home as their primary residence for five years, the financial assistance will be treated as a grant and won't need to be repaid. (WPRI.com)
- Providence County residents won't want to miss the WWE spectacular coming to the area this spring. WWE WrestleMania Backlash will be coming to The Dunkin’ Donuts Center on May 8th in Providence. General tickets go on sale today at 10:00 a.m. (WPRI.com)
