6 RI Beaches Close To Swimming Due To High Bacteria Levels

Beaches in Warwick, Bristol, Warren, and Portsmouth close to swimming due to high bacteria counts.

WARREN, RI — Six Rhode Island beaches have closed for swimming because of high bacteria counts in the water.

The Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) recommended the closure of City Park, Oakland Beach, and Conimicut Beach in Warwick, Bristol Town Beach, Warren Town Beach, and Sandy Point Beach in Portsmouth.

RIDOH officials said they will continue to monitor and review beach water quality regularly to ensure safe bathing throughout summer.
