East Main Road Delays Caused by Emergency Water Repairs

PORTSMOUTH, RI—Motorists have been advised to expect traffic and delays on East Main Road on Wednesday due to emergency water service repairs.

The north and south bound lanes the road near Mint Water Brook Road are reduced to one lane in each direction from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“Motorists are advised that construction vehicles may be entering and leaving the work area,” a Portsmouth Water and Fire District news release stated. “It is expected that traffic will be slowed and occasionally backed-up during this time period, particularly during commuting hours. Motorists are encouraged to seek alternative routes to avoid likely delays.”
