House Fire In Portsmouth Displaces Couple: Report

The American Red Cross is assisting two people after a fire damaged their home in Portsmouth on Wednesday evening.

PORTSMOUTH, RI —A fire in Portsmouth left two people without a place to call home Wednesday evening, according to WPRI-TV.

A woman called 911 after she saw her neighbors' home on Sea Meadow Drive on fire, the fire chief told the TV station.

Firefighters were able to put out the flames, but the damage left the home uninhabitable.

Fortunately, the couple was not home when the fire broke out. They are receiving help from the American Red Cross.
