On Friday afternoon, Moore visited the towing yard in an attempt to pick up his vehicle. He parked at the Dunkin' Donuts on West Main Road and walked to Mello's Towing, police said.

However, Moore previously never showed up in court on the original license charge. Police had issued a Second District Court bench warrant for failure to appear.

The tow company had police orders not to release the vehicle, due to the stolen plates, and immediately contacted police.

Officers soon learned the license plates weren't the only objects stolen. The vehicle parked at Dunkin' Donuts and operated by Moore was reported stolen out of East Providence.

Moore was arrested and charged with possession of a stolen vehicle and receiving stolen goods. He was later turned over to East Providence police.
