Newsweek Names Portsmouth High Among Top Schools in Nation

Newsweek's online feature, The Daily Beast, named Portsmouth High School among the top 2,000 high schools throughout the country on Monday. 

Portsmouth High School made the list of America's Best High Schools at number 1,244 among 2,000 schools throughout the country. 

Portsmouth High School made the list because, according to The Daily Beast, it proved to be among the most effective schools in turning out college-ready grads.

The ranking was based on six components: graduation rate, college acceptance rate, AP/IB/AICE tests taken per student, average SAT/ACT scores, average AP/IB/AICE scores and percent of students enrolled in at least one AP/IB/AICE course. 

According to Newsweek, Portsmouth High School has the following:
