Police Log: Woman Allegedly Punches Man

The following is based on reports from the Portsmouth Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Portsmouth police made the following arrests in last few days. 

Woman allegedly punches man

Elizabeth Peper, 59, of 95 Seaconnet Boulevard, was arrested during the the storm on Oct. 29 at 8:30 p.m.

Peper allegedly got into an argument with a 62-year-old Portsmouth man. During the argument, she allegedly punched him. 

She was arrested and charged with domestic, simple assault. She was held overnight at the police station.

Portsmouth man allegedly drives under the influence 

Gary Medeiros, 53, of 85 Middle Road, was arrested on Halloween, Oct. 31, at 11:30 p.m. and charged with driving under the influence (DUI) and refusal to submit to a chemical test. 

Police stopped a vehicle operating erratically on East Main Road near Church Lane. Police say they observed a strong odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle. 

Medeiros failed a field sobriety test and, after being transported to police headquarters, allegedly refused a chemical test.
