PORTSMOUTH, RI — Pet owners in Portsmouth have until the end of the month to renew their dog's license and ensure rabies vaccinations are up-to-date.

Rhode Island law requires residents to renew their dog's license each year with their city or town clerk. In Portsmouth, licenses cost $8 per dog, with a limit of three dogs per household. Applications submitted after April 30 will have a $20 fee. Residents must show a valid rabies vaccination certificate.

Applications can be downloaded from the town's website.
