Christmas Tree Pickup Schedule
The Portsmouth Department of Public Works will pick up discarded Christmas trees using the following schedule based on voting precincts:
- MONDAY, JANUARY 6, 2025: Precincts 2702.
- TUESDAY, JANUARY 7, 2025: Precinct 2703.
- WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 8, 2025: Precincts 2704 and 2705.
- THURSDAY, JANUARY 9, 2025: Precinct 2706.
- FRIDAY, JANUARY 10, 2025: Precinct 2707.
If you don’t know your precinct, contact Canvassing at 401-683-3157 or go to https://vote.sos.ri.gov/ and choose “View/Update My Voter Record.”

Remember:
- Trees must be placed at curbside by 7:00 a.m. on your collection day.
- Trees must NOT be in plastic bags and must be totally stripped of ALL decorations and tinsel.
- Residents that miss their pick-up date can bring Christmas trees to the Department of Public Works located off Hedly Street. Trees will NOT be accepted at the Transfer Station.
- Trees will be recycled into mulch that will be available free of charge to Portsmouth residents. For more information on when mulch is available, contact Portsmouth Public Works at (401) 683-0362.
- In the event of inclement weather, this schedule may change. Contact Public Works at 401-683-0362 for your new pick-up date.
