Water District Property Tax Bills Will be Mailed Oct. 26
Payments will be due Dec. 1. Rates went up by one cent per $1,000 of assessed value this year.

Residents served by the Portsmouth Water and Fire District will start getting their annual water district property tax bills after Oct. 26, the day they’ll be mailed.
Philip Driscoll, chairman of the district’s administrative board, said that the tax rate is .21 per $1,000 of assessed value. The tax rate increased by one cent over 2014. The annual district tax on a property assessed at $400,000 would be $84, as an example.
Pay online at portsmouthwater.org — it’s free and you can use a creidt card or a bank account withdrawl.

If you’re using a bill pay service, reference your water or tax account number on the check to make sure the payment is posted properly.
Payments are due Dec. 1, interest accures at a rate of 1 percent per month afterwards.

If you don’t see a bill in your mailbox by mid November, call the district office at 401-683-2090.
