18-Year-Old Shot In Face In Providence: Police
Officers responded to Rhode Island Hospital for a report of a gunshot victim, police said.

PROVIDENCE, RI — An 18-year-old was shot in the face in Providence, police said.
Shortly before 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, "officers responded to Rhode Island Hospital for a report of a gunshot victim," Kristy dosReis, the chief public information officer for the Providence Department of Public Safety, said in an email.
"An 18-year-old male stated that he had been shot at by unknown individuals, though he was unable to provide a location of the incident," dosReis said. "He sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the side of his face."

Police later determined the man had been shot on Montgomery Avenue near Alabama Avenue, according to dosReis.
"Detectives were notified and the incident remains under active investigation," she said.
