5 Hospitalized After Car Strikes RI State Police Cruiser In Johnston
Five people, including a state trooper, were taken to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence with minor injuries, RI State Police say.
JOHNSTON, RI — Five people were sent to the hospital Sunday night after someone struck a Rhode Island State Police cruiser with their car in Johnston, according to state police.
State police said the crash happened around 9:20 p.m. on Route 6 eastbound near Atwood Avenue. According to state police, the cruiser was struck in the high speed lane with both vehicles coming to rest in the center median.
Five people, including a state trooper, were taken to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence with minor injuries.

State police did not release the identity of the person who crashed into the cruiser. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
