9 Displaced By Thursday Morning Fire In Providence
The fire spread to the building next door, according to an official.

PROVIDENCE, RI — A Thursday morning fire displaced nine residents, a city official said.
The five adults and four children displaced by the blaze resided next-door to the vacant burning building on Althea Street, Kristy dosReis, the chief public information officer for the Providence Department of Public Safety, said in an email.
"The vacant structure is considered a total loss," dosReis said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, she said.
