Another Providence Machete Attack Leaves 1 Wounded: Cops
It was the second reported machete attack in less than a week.
PROVIDENCE, RI — A second man in less than a week was wounded in a Providence machete attack, police said.
Officers responded to the Stratford House apartments on Elmwood Avenue Saturday for a report of a stabbing, Providence Department of Public Safety Chief Public Information Officer Kristy dosReis said in an email.

"A victim sustained non-life-threatening lacerations to the arm, reportedly caused by a machete," dosReis said. "All individuals involved are in custody; detectives are investigating."

Just six days earlier, a machete-wielding man attacked another man in Providence in the middle of the afternoon, dosReis said at the time.

The man on the wrong end of the Machete — a 68-year-old — suffered injuries that were not life-threatening, dosReis said.

The machete man had fled before officers arrived, dosReis said, and the wounded man was "reported to be in good spirits" after the attack.
