- A Providence councilman is defending himself after social media backlash over photos from a homeless encampment cleanup. Councilman Nicholas Narducci claims the cleanup, which took place Tuesday afternoon, was organized after neighbors complained about litter and debris under the Route 146 overpass along Branch Avenue. Advocates claimed Narducci lacks empathy for the state’s homeless population. They gathered underneath the overpass Wednesday demanding the state do more to help the city’s homeless population. - Fane Tower, Providence's $300 million proposed skyscraper, is moving fully ahead. The project is pushing forward almost five years after developer Jason Fane proposed it in Dec. 2016. The project was slow in working its way through Rhode Island and Providence’s complex regulatory structure, and it received opposition from neighbors and the Providence Preservation Society.
