Free Bible conference in Richmond on August 11-12

Event to feature noted speaker and author Curt Blattman from New York City

Wood River Baptist Church, 246 Kingston Road (Route 138) in the Wyoming section of Richmond, will host a free apologetics conference on Friday, August 11 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, August 12 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. On Saturday, lunch will be served. Admission is free and open to the public.

The conference will be facilitated by noted apologetics speaker and author Curt Blattman from New York City. Blattman holds an Economics degree from Princeton University, an MBA in Finance from New York University, and a Master's degree in Apologetics from Biola University. His first career was as a banker at JP Morgan Chase. His second career was as a counselor at the Bowery Mission. His third career is as a traveling apologist.

The term "apologetics" comes from a Greek word that is is commonly used to describe an intelligent defense of the Christian faith. Blattman's book, The Challenge, dares readers to weigh the evidence and decide for themselves if the Bible is true or not.

Topics covered during the conference will include the purposes of studying apologetics; the Bible's incredible influential nature; how your creation vs. evolution worldview matters; Bible history, science and prophecy; the top ten reasons why the New Testament writers told the truth; why the resurrection of Jesus has to be true; and why God allows evil. Q&A will be included in all sessions.
