  1. Angered by Providence City Council's social media post, advocates are urging the state to address its homelessness crisis. Many gathered underneath the Route 146 overpass on Branch Avenue Wednesday to express their frustrations with the recent cleanup of a homeless encampment. Demonstrators argue that not everything under the overpass was trash and more needs to be done to help the city’s homeless population. (WPRI.com)
  2. Providence Mayor Jorge Elorza has announced he won't be running for governor in 2022. The announcement comes after Secretary of State Nellie Gorbea and General Treasurer Seth Magaziner both officially declared their candidacies for governor. Recently, the mayor has come under fire his handling of crime in Providence, and for naming the city’s Recreation Director Michael Stephens to the role of Major in the Providence Police Department.
