Here are the top stories today in Providence:

  1. The Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular kicked off Thursday night at the Roger Williams Park Zoo. This year's theme will celebrate the greatest music from the last 150 years, taking guests on a journey from the days of ragtime and swing to rock-and-roll and hip hop. The event is running nightly through Oct. 31 and is open rain or shine. (WPRI.com)
  2. An independent investigation found repeated allegations of harassment and bullying in the Providence City Hall office. The report conducted by an independent law firm found that "the evidence reflects that [City Clerk Shawn] Selleck has violated the City Code of Conduct (which includes an anti-bullying and anti-harassment policy) and the Workplace Violence Policy.” The 77-page report found a sweeping array of allegations of abuse by Selleck, and found that no actions were taken by Sabina Matos, then-City Council President.   3. A truck hauling a shipping container flipped over on I-95 in Providence during the lunch hour on Thursday. (WJAR)
  4. Two sisters, ages 8 and 9, started fire in an isle at a North Providence Dollar General store on Smith Street. (WPRI.com)
