PROVIDENCE, RI — A woman was tased and thrown to the ground in an apparent attempted abduction, a city official said.
The woman was walking on Stanwood Street to a store about 1:30 p.m. Thursday when a man "used a taser on her neck, threw her to the ground and tased her again in the ribs," Providence Director of Communications Josh Estrella said in an email.
The man "attempted to force her into his vehicle, but she was able to break free," Estrella said. "He then fled toward Broad Street in the vehicle."
