NBA Draft: Justin Minaya Signs Summer League Deal, No Friars Drafted
Minaya, a one-year defensive standout for Providence College, will suit up for the Charlotte Hornets during the NBA Summer League.

PROVIDENCE, RI — No Providence College Friars heard their name called during the NBA Draft on Thursday, but that doesn't mark the end of the road for five Friars dreaming of a shot at professional basketball.
Nate Watson, A.J. Reeves, Al Durham, Noah Horchler and Justin Minaya led the Friars to new heights last year, now they'll look to catch on with an NBA team.
Minaya is the first of the group to lock down a spot on an NBA Summer League roster, according to Newsday's Steve Popper. Minaya has agreed to terms with the Charlotte Hornets.

It was a down year for the Big East when it comes to draft picks, having only one player from the conference in UConn's Tyrese Martin chosen. Some stars from the conference, however, have reportedly locked down post-draft deals with NBA franchises, according to reports.
Villanova's Collin Gillespie is expected to sign a two-way deal with the Denver Nuggets, meaning he is eligible for an NBA salary while on the roster at the NBA level, and a G League salary while playing at that level.
