Providence Counterfeiter Caught During Traffic Stop: Cops

The Providence man was wanted in connection with counterfeiting cases in Johnston, police said.

PROVIDENCE, RI — A Providence counterfeiter was caught during an early Wednesday morning traffic stop, police said.

Richard Hiraldo, 26, was arrested shortly after 12:30 a.m. after he was pulled over on Route 6 in Providence, the Rhode Island State Police said in a media release.

Hiraldo was wanted on charges of passing of counterfeit certificates and forgery and counterfeiting, the release said.

Both charges were in connection with Johnston Police Department cases, according to the release.

"Hiraldo was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and turned over to the Adult Correctional Institutions Men's Intake Center," the release said.
