Providence DMV Moves Road Tests To Cranston After Flooding
The DMV was forced to close for two days after Labor Day flooding. Now, road tests will be moved to Cranston until further notice.
PROVIDENCE, RI — Severe flooding at the Providence office of the Rhode Island Department of Motor Vehicles forced the location to close for two days this week, but more changes are coming.
The DMV announced that flooding will force DMV officials to move all road tests to Cranston until further notice. They'll now be conducting tests at the 600 New London Ave. offices.
The state garage will also be closed until further notice.

This comes after nearly 9-inches of rain in some parts of the city caused major flooding, shutting down highways and causing infrastructure issues, including a building collapse on Peace Street.
