Providence Man Charged With Fatal Wreck Now Also Charged With Child Pornography
The Providence man was free on his own recognizance when he was charged with possessing child pornography.
PROVIDENCE, RI — A Providence man who was charged with causing a Cranston car wreck that claimed a young woman's life now also faces a charge of possession of child pornography.
Juan Archila, 43, was arrested Thursday on the child pornography charge by the Rhode Island State Police Major Crimes Unit, the state police said in a media release.

Archila forced another driver off the road and onto the Interstate 295 median, where it crashed into a tree Nov. 26, police said.

The driver who hit the tree, 23-year-old Casey Bassignani, was killed, according to police.
Archila was located and arrested following the crash, police said. He was charged with driving so as to endanger, resulting in death.

Archila was released on his own recognizance following his November arrest.
The state police released few details of his arrest on the child pornography charge. State police Lt. Col. Robert Creamer failed to respond to a request for additional information.
