Providence Man Charged With Shooting: Cops

The Providence man was apprehended by the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force, police said.

PROVIDENCE, RI — A Providence man charged in connection with a shooting was arrested Wednesday, police said.

Elliot T. Marzette, 34, was picked up on a Providence Police Department warrant charging with aggravated assault with a weapon (shooting), according to the Rhode Island State Police.

Marzette was arrested by the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force, police said.

"Mr. Marzette was taken into custody without incident and turned over to members of the Providence Police Department on scene," police said.

State police Maj. Kenneth M. Moriarty failed to respond to a request for further information on Marzette's arrest.
