Providence Man Solicited Minor: Cops

PROVIDENCE, RI — A Providence man was charged with the indecent solicitation of a minor, police said.

Jose Gutierrez, 25, was arrested on the solicitation charge Thursday and also charged with obstruction, according to the Rhode Island State Police.

Gutierrez was taken into custody by the state police Special Victims Unit, the Major Crimes Unit, the Tactical Team, and troopers from the Lincoln Barracks and the Scituate Barracks, police said.

"Mr. Gutierrez was transported to the Lincoln Barracks, processed, arraigned by a justice of (the) peace and released, police said.
