Providence Restaurant Celebrates Diwali With Special Prix Fixe Menu

The special menu starts Saturday.

PROVIDENCE, RI —A modern Indian restaurant is celebrating Diwali with a special prix fixe menu.

Little Chaska, located within the Track 15 food hall at 1 Union Station in downtown Providence, will offer its special menu from 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Saturday through Monday with 25%of all sale on Monday — Diwali —donated to the Rhode Island Community Food Bank, according to a media release.

The special menu will "celebrate Diwali, the religious Hindu festival that symbolizes the victory of light over darkness," the release said.

"The prix fixe will begin with Aloo Tikki Chaat: spiced hand rolled potato patties topped with chickpeas, house chutneys, and yogurt followed by Butter Chicken Burrata: grilled chicken cooked in a fresh tomato and hand-stretched fresh Narragansett creamery mozzarella sauce and served with rice," the release said.

"Dessert will feature Gulab Jamun: cardamom and rose essence-infused flour and milk dumplings served warm with a creamy milk and saffron reduction," according to the release. "The cost of the three course meal is $30 plus tax."

“I am so happy to bring a taste of this beautiful celebration to our Track 15 guests, one that honors the important relationships between family, friends, and the community,” Sanjiv Dhar, the executive chef at Little Chaska, said in the release.
